Section 11 Audit

Date: Monday, 06th Sep 2021 | Category: General, Local News

Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 places duties on a range of organisations and individuals to ensure their functions, and any services that they contract out to others, are discharged having regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Merton Safeguarding Children Partnership will be undertaking a Section 11 Audit this year. It will help organisations in Merton undertake their own quality assurance processes in regard to safeguarding and child protection, and will provide an updated baseline of safeguarding awareness and practice across Merton, as well as highlight areas of improvement and good practice.

The audit will go live from Monday 6th September and agencies will have eight weeks to complete the online audit tool, including providing evidence alongside their responses. Each agency has a named lead and we will be in touch with them directly to provide access to the online tool. You can access further materials about how to use the online audit tool in the PHEW Audits Respondents Manual.

We want to thank you for your engagement with this audit. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any further questions at MertonLSCB@merton.gov.uk.
